weekly playlist 1
On my old blog, the weekly playlist was my favourite feature... so here it is again (complete with awkward photo from a visual journalism assignment this week).
You may remember Maggie Rogers from her viral meeting with Pharrell, which instantly catapulted her into internet fame and gave her music much deserved recognition. 'Light On' is her newest release and has already garnered acclaim from fans. Her album will be released on the 18th of January 2019, a much anticipated follow up to her 2017 EP 'Now That The Light Is Fading'. Rogers describes 'Light On' as her "most vulnerable song to date", yet as always her unique voice provides for an uplifting atmosphere.
'Loaded' is one of my favourites from Miles Kane's new album 'Coup De Grace' and actually has backing vocals from Lana Del Rey, who co-wrote the track.
You know when you see a really good gig and the songs sound better after? That's how I feel about Rex Orange County after his London gig last Friday. The sold out show was genuinely one of the best I've ever seen which, admittedly, I didn't expect. Therefore, '4 Seasons' has gained a much deserved spot on this playlist.
I hope you enjoy this playlist! See ya next week for my next installment.
